The Collective Memories of Singapore: An Exhibition SINGAPORE, 19 May 2009 – Eye é City, a non-profit organization that promotes the preservation of memories belonging to modern day Singapore, will present photographs from its annual flagship event, A Visual Account of the Last 24 Hours of 2008 in an exhibition at the foyer of Bras Basah Complex from 13 June through 30 June 2009. Into its seventh year, the long-awaited exhibition will feature the best images reflecting the social and urban landscapes of Singapore. These photographs were selected by a panel of judges, after sifting through hundreds of photographs submitted by more than 150 participants that took part in the event on the last day of 2008. Participants had to work within a 24-hour period to search, gather and photograph their subjects before submitting them the next day. The show will appeal to all ages because of the wide-ranging topics that were documented by ordinary folks from all over the city state. Audiences will be treated to a bold and unique visual display of eyewitness record and personal commentary of Singapore's extraordinary, everyday and the mundane. http://eyeecity.multiply.com
